This book was first published by members of the Piggoreet Old Scholars Association which was formed in 1915. Piggoreet and Golden Lake are old gold mining townships west of Ballarat. The book includes recollections of the Old Scholars members schooldays, family lives, parents working lives, and the early mining years at Piggoreet and Golden Lake. Some time later the Old Scholars of Grand Trunk gold-mining settlement joined the Association. The book also includes a list of students who attended the Piggoreet State School and Grand Trunk Common School -- Baird Matthew H.
