Douglas Baird and son Andrew - Scotland

Steelworker Douglas Baird of Glasgow, pictured left with his son Andrew walked five hours each day for eight days, over the Great Wall of China, to raise funds for the children's charity Aberlour Child Care a voluntary organization which provides care and help for disadvantaged children in Scotland. Douglas a keen hill walker, began training for this endurance event by walking in Scotland. He said 'Walking the West Highland way is good practice and I have climbed Ben Nevis and Ben Lomond' Well done Douglas.!

Dwight Baird - Canada

Born and raised in Huntingdon, Canada, Dwight Baird has been specializing in water colors for the past twenty years. Recently he was commissioned by the Montreal McCord Museum for an exhibition. He was also recently honored as a recipient of a 2000 Premier Award, presented for outstanding accomplishment in a specific field of study [Visual Arts]. Dwight participates in some of the finest Arts Festivals in both Canada and the United States and has received various prizes and honorable mentions for his work.

Julianne Baird - USA

Julianne Baird, soprano is one of the most extraordinary voices in the service of early music. Her busy recital and oratorio schedule includes recent appearances in Lincoln Center, Philadelphia's Academy of Music, Symphony Hall in Chicago, Severance Hall, and The Kennedy Center and her scheduled debut at the Kimmel Center. With over 100 recordings to her credit, Julianne Baird is considered one of America's most recorded women. She also has a new CD entitled "Rossini in Venice".
