Stuart Baird

Stuart Baird, has edited many films including Tommy, Maverick, The Omen, Lethal Weapon, and Superman, which earned him an Academy Award nomination. He also received a second Oscar nomination for Gorilla's in the Mist. Stuart made the transition from editing room to director's chair with the 1996 action thriller Executive Decision, and is currently shooting Star Trek: Nemesis in Hollywood. He secured his first film job soon after graduation in 1968 from Cheltenham College, through his uncle who was a film producer, who introduce him to Lindsay Anderson, "It helped that I was Scots, like his father".

Patricia Baird - UK . Canada

Patricia A Baird is renowned for her work on the population distribution of genetic disorders such as Down Syndrome, and on the social, ethical and health results of new knowledge of human reproductive biology and genetics. Born in Great Britain, She received her education and medical training at McGill University. From 1978-89, she headed the Department of Medical Genetics at UBC, the first woman to hold such a position. In 1991, she became Vice-President of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research. Patricia also received the Order of British Columbia, 1992 and the Order of Canada, 2000.

Pictured is Harrie Baird born 1923, son of Colin Campbell Baird and great-grandson of James Baird and Jean Campbell from New Cumnock Aryshire to Learmonth, Victoria Australia. Also pictured are two of his three sons, Matthew who lectures in Architecture, Sydney and Jim who is presently teaching in Brunei Darussalam, not pictured is his daughter who designed this website.

Bryan Baird and son Isaac - USA

Pictured is Bryan G. Baird with his son Isaac one of three children. Bryan is the son of Robert N. Baird and grandson of Daniel Cumming Baird both of Cowley, WY and also brother to Pauline Baird Jones, featured on the previous page. He is a police sergeant in Lovell, WY. and serves as a Tactical Operator on a Regional Tactical (SWAT) Team, and as a Firearms Instructor and Armorer.

David Baird and family - Australia

Pictured from left is David Alexander Baird accompanied by wife Dorothy, daughter Jeanette, and son Matthew. David is the grandson of Robert Baird and Agnes McKerrow from New Cumnock Ayshire who settled at Learmonth, Victoria. The photo was taken when David was honoured in the THE QUEEN’S BIRTHDAY 2005 HONOURS, for service to the community, particularly through fundraising for the establishment of the Australian Ex-Prisoners of War Memorial at Ballarat.
