Howff Cemetery Dundee

The Howff is Dundee's oldest surviving cemetery. Bequeathed to the town by Mary Queen of Scots, when she visited Dundee in 1564 and granted all the monastic properties in and around the town to the Council and Magistrates, in trust for the community. The Howff was the main burial ground for around 300 years, closing to interments in the mid 19th century.
